{"id":3186,"date":"2016-11-14T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-14T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/red-sweater.com\/blog\/?p=3186"},"modified":"2016-11-14T10:33:19","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T15:33:19","slug":"introducing-touche","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/redsweater.com\/blog\/3186\/introducing-touche","title":{"rendered":"Introducing Touch\u00e9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When Apple announced the new MacBook Pros, featuring a hardware Touch Bar above the keyboard, I was immediately intrigued.<\/p>\n<p>Apple provided a &#8220;simulator&#8221; to developers, so they can get a sense for how the Touch Bar works, and test their own apps with the Touch Bar, without having to buy a new MacBook Pro.<\/p>\n<p>The simulator is cool, but I immediately noticed a few shortcomings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You have to download Xcode to use it.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s cumbersome to activate and deactivate.<\/li>\n<li>Taking screenshots of the Touch Bar is awkward.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/red-sweater.com\/touche\/\">Touch\u00e9<\/a> is my answer to those shortcomings. If you&#8217;re an everyday user who just wants to play around with the Touch Bar concept, a developer who wants a an easy way to toggle the virtual Touch Bar off and on, or a designer who needs to share screenshots from the Touch Bar frequently, then I think you&#8217;re going to love Touch\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Touch\u00e9 is free for all to download and use.
