{"id":354,"date":"2007-06-12T11:33:13","date_gmt":"2007-06-12T18:33:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.red-sweater.com\/blog\/354\/kinda-sorta-internet"},"modified":"2007-06-13T09:15:55","modified_gmt":"2007-06-13T16:15:55","slug":"kinda-sorta-internet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/redsweater.com\/blog\/354\/kinda-sorta-internet","title":{"rendered":"Kinda-Sorta Internet"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Everybody&#8217;s wondering whether the lack of confirmation from Apple regarding <a href=\"http:\/\/scobleizer.com\/2007\/06\/11\/no-java-no-flash-no-net-for-iphone\/\">Flash support<\/a> for the iPhone means that we won&#8217;t be seeing it (at least in the 1.0?).<\/p>\n<p>\nIf it&#8217;s true, to me this puts a fuzzy spin on Apple&#8217;s commercial claiming that the iPhone&#8217;s browser is &#8220;just the internet&#8221;&#8230;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTo get an idea for how important Flash is to the internet, try removing the plugins (from \/Library\/Internet Plug-Ins), relaunch Safari, and see how many errors you get cruising the web.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nI suppose the problem could be mitigated somewhat by simply ignoring the Flash content, as opposed to showing an error. But I think the iPhone still needs Flash. Even if it&#8217;s only &#8220;kinda-sorta&#8221; Flash support.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n(Note: In case it&#8217;s not obvious, the image below is NOT a screen capture or picture from a real iPhone.
