MarsEdit 4.0.4: More Bug Fixes

It’s been two weeks since MarsEdit 4 was launched, and I’ve focused on releasing bug-fix updates to iron out little issues that have been reported since the debut.

MarsEdit 4.0.4 is now available for download from the MarsEdit home page and from the Mac App Store.

Here is the list of fixes this update includes:

  • Fix a failure to auto-configure some Tumblr-based blogs
  • Fix a problem that prevented bolds, italics, etc. from being set as default preview fonts
  • Fix a problem where Typewriter Mode in Rich Text mode could scroll awkwardly while typing
  • Restore support for selecting “main category” on Movable Type blogs
  • Improve indexing and searchability of built-in Help

    Hey I have Mars Edit that I purchased. I bought Mars Edit 4.0.4 on my desktop earlier in the month. I just went to use it on my laptop and it wants me to buy another licence. Is this a bug in the App Store version or should I stop using App Store and go back to downloading it on both machines?

    Hi Cayce – if you bought MarsEdit’s full license through the Mac App Store on one Mac, you just need to “Restore Purchase…” from the other Mac to get the same license installed on that copy of the app.
