Last week, Apple announced its first Macs featuring their own custom processors, which they dub “Apple Silicon.”
I want folks who purchase these new Macs to have the best possible experience with our apps, so I’ve updated all five of Red Sweater’s main apps: MarsEdit, Black Ink, FastScripts, FlexTime, and Clarion, to support the native architecture of these Macs. That means they’ll run at optimal speeds and require no additional resources from the system’s compatibility layers.
Enjoy that Apple Silicon!

Apple is releasing a major update today: macOS 11 Big Sur.
As usual, we have tested our apps extensively with the new OS, and made fixes to the apps along the way to ensure compatibility. As far as we are aware all of our apps are completely compatible with the new update.
Stay tuned for news about updated versions of our apps to support Apple’s new Apple Silicon based Macs, which we intend to release shortly.
Enjoy macOS 11!

MarsEdit 4.4.6 is now available on the MarsEdit site and on the Mac App Store.
This update is hot on the heels of 4.4.5, hopefully wrapping up the busy week for MarsEdit updates! Just a quick fix to address a problem that caused MarsEdit to crash while opening the post editor on macOS 10.12 and 10.13 based Macs.
If you enjoy MarsEdit, please consider writing a review or rating the app on the Mac App Store, spreading the word on Facebook or Twitter, and of course, writing about the app on your own blog! Thanks for your support.

MarsEdit 4.4.5 is now available on the MarsEdit site and the Mac App Store.
This update comes hot on the heels of 4.4.4 to address a little glitch with changes I made to the Main Window’s post preview area. Depending on the blog preview template, text might appear in that view with the wrong color in Dark Mode. As it happened I had a couple other bug reports come in over the past couple days, so I was able to squeeze in fixes for those, too.
Complete list of changes for this release:
- Fix a bug with MarsEdit 4.4.4 that caused the main window preview colors to be wrong in Dark Mode
- Fix a bug where Movable Type posts with “more tag” content had the extended content duplicated
- Fix a bug that caused the Rich Editor colors to sometimes not update when switching between Dark and Light Mode
If you enjoy MarsEdit, please consider writing a review or rating the app on the Mac App Store, spreading the word on Facebook or Twitter, and of course, writing about the app on your own blog! Thanks for your support.
